If it is the perfect family resort that you are after then maybe Les Gets is more for you.  Twice rated as best family ski resort in the world this quaint alpine village is perfect for beginners and families.  It is located just a 10 minute drive from Morzine and linked in to the massive Portes du Soleil ski area but also only a 1 hour drive from Geneva and 8 hours from Calais.   The ski slopes come right into the centre of the village and there are plenty of ski schools and hire shops for you to choose from.  The ski runs around the resort are long and mostly quite gentle and wide and there is even an area of the mountain dedicated just to children.  There are lots of wonderful restaurants on the mountain, so if it is a fairly relaxing ski holiday you are after then you can pass away your afternoons on one of the lovely terraces while the children are in ski school or nursery.

As well as skiing there is also an ice rink in the centre of the village and a bowling alley too.  The village gets a beautiful covering of snow in the winter which really does make it a true chocolate box resort and the perfect setting for when Father Christmas turns up in resort!

There are many large and small chalets located in Les Gets and plenty of them have sunny and central positions.

During summer Les Gets becomes a haven for walkers and mountain bikers alike.  The bike park here is one of the best in the world with competition standard down hill tracks, training areas and north shore.

It is still very much a family orientated resort though in the summer with a beautiful lake for swimming, adventure parks and a golf course.
