Having Fun In Morzine – What Not to Miss

There’s so much more to Morzine than just the hundreds of miles of marked ski runs that spiral off in every direction. So if you’re the kind that likes to get more out of your annual ski jollies, be sure to check out at least a few of the following before boarding your Geneva Airport transfers and heading for home:

Cross Country Skiing

Get back to nature in spectacular style by making use of the 216km of cross-country ski trails that span the whole of the Portes du Soleil area. From Morzine you have easy access to four of the biggest and best cross-country ski areas in the world – there’s really no better place to cut your teeth for the first time or take your passion to the next level. Lake Montriond comes particularly highly recommended for its stunning beauty.

Day Spas

If you’re going to put the effort into something physical, it’s only fair that you treat yourself to some pampering. There are some amazing day spas and retreats all over Morzine, with firm favourites including the LS Beauty Salon, Morzine Massage, La Bergerie Hotel Spa, The Lodge and Pure Altitude Spa to name just a few. Indulgent rest and relaxation is serious business in Morzine.

Husky Sledding

Husky sledding MorzineIt’s a thrill you have to experience to understand and a skill you can only pick up in a select few areas of the world…including Morzine. Whether taking an exhilarating trip as a passenger or taking full control of your own sled, husky sledding is an extraordinary opportunity you really cannot afford to pass up. There are dozens of different excursions, courses and one off experiences to choose from, so no matter whether you’re looking for a white knuckle thrill or something entire more relaxing, all bases are covered.

Ice Diving

That’s not a misprint and yes, it is what it sounds like…diving, in ice. A totally unique experien

ce like nothing you’ve ever imagined, even experienced divers are left in awe of what goes on beneath the surface of an icy lake away from the view of the rest of the world. Training and guidance is of course provided so you don’t need to be experienced, but you’ll of course need plenty of resolve and a taste for adventure to qualify.

Helicopter Fun

There’s simply no better way of admiring the beauty of the Morzine area than by taking a helicopter trip high up above the mountains. But then again, if this all sounds a little bit too relaxing and mundane for you, why not book a trip that allows you to jump out of the helicopter at the top and ski back down to civilisation? Anything goes in Morzine – if you’ve got the will, they’ve got the way.

Snowmobiling

And finally, one of the most enjoyable and of course fastest experiences you can have on the snow is snowmobiling. From 5:30pm until midnight most days you can hire a snowmobile for 45 minutes and have the time of your life flying about and holding on for dear life…marvellous!
