So our first summer in Morzine is drawing to a close, and what a summer it has been! We have seen flooding in May and record temperatures in July and August. We have hiked up many hills, Mountain biked down them, swam in lakes, rocked out with Harley Davidson fans and Toto and even had the Mont Blanc Rally pass us by. Its been full of activities and great fun. There really is something for everyone here in the summer, and the activities are endless, we highly recommend giving the Portes du Soleil a visit in the Summer months as it really is beautiful. There is something for all the family, for all ages and this year the weather has been truly amazing.
Now the leaves are turning, and autumn is truly in the air, its getting colder, the hoodies are out for the first time this season, and there is even a touch of snow on the tippy tops of the mountains in the distance, with even more forecast for this week coming. We know it is early, but we just can’t wait for that first snowfall of the season! The town is pretty quiet at the moment, and its nice to be able to enjoy the slower pace of the interseason, whilst still being able to go out for hikes and bike rides.
The nights are drawing in and making us think of our favourite time of the year, the winter. We are getting ourselves organised and doing lots of work on the new winter menu, and tasting all the new dishes is definitely the best part of the process! Keep an eye out for new photos of the lovely dishes we will be offering up this year. They will definitely be something to look forward to during the autumn months. Winter is coming!
