Summer 2017 is just around the corner, and with it comes all of the events that are going to make the Summer in Morzine, Les Gets and the surrounding areas a truly exciting and awesome one. Here’s our lowdown of what’s going on in the area this summer;
10th June – The lift systems in Morzine & Les Gets officially open for pedestrians and mountain bikers, with the rest of the Portes du Soleil following later. Get out there and enjoy the amazing scenery, either with a leisurely hike, or on two wheels, there’s so much to see.

14h-18th June – Crankworx – Les Gets hosts a 4 day extravaganza of Mountain biking skills. Crankworx is in Les Gets for the second time, and brings the stars of downhill, slopestyle and slalom to our doorstep, along with concerts, music, and other events. A great opportunity to get up close and personal with both the male and female riders as they shoot past you downhill. Expect big air time, double back flips & a whole lot of steeze!
22-25th June – The Pass’portes du Soleil – The 14th edition of the mountain biking ride taking in 2 countries, 15 lifts, and 80 kilometres of fun but hard biking, completed in just one day! Its also the official opening of the whole Portes de Soleil (Summer has started)
After a successful first event last summer, the Spartan Race returns to Morzine on July 1st and 2nd. The world-leader of obstacle courses, the Spartan race will test your limits on a running and obstacle race of various levels, with childrens courses and adults courses, so everyone can join in and push themselves to the limits.
The Harley Days Festival hits resort on Thursday 13 to Sunday 16 July, taking place in the centre of Morzine with a schedule of events including live music concerts that are free. Expect hundreds of bikers with their bikes proudly on display and plenty of market stalls all over town.
If you are more of a road cyclist, then check out the Alps Haute Route on 26th and 27th August – the first global series of multi-day cycling events for amateurs, these are the highest, toughest and most prestigious amateur races in the world.
And finally, the Mont Blanc Rally arrives in Morzine from Thursday 31 August to Saturday 02 September to finish off the summer season, if fast cars and mountain roads is your thing – this is for you! Watch the cars drift around the local windy roads at top speed.
There’s not only these biking events on in the area, there’s also plenty of beautiful hikes to be done, as well as lakes and pools to swim in, road biking, rafting, horse riding and golf in the area.
