Snowfall around Morzine and the surrounding areas- beginning of December 2012

By December 5, 2012Morzine

Check out the huge snowfall around Morzine and the surrounding areas from this week…

In the last week there has been an unbelievable amount of fresh snow in the French Alps.  The snowfall around Morzine and the rest of the valley is now over a foot deep and Les Gets has maybe double that!  As for the mountains above you are likely to get buried if you venture into the snow as it just seems to keep falling!  Here are some pictures from our walks in the Valley over the last few days…

To keep an eye on what is happening in Avoriaz with the snow you can look at the webcam here.

According to the website for Avoriaz (which is opening early this weekend) there is already 100cm of snow on the lower slopes and 120cm on the upper slopes.

You can take a look at the forecast for loads more snowfall around Morzine and Les Gets here.  Or here.

The way things look at the moment it is shaping up to be another amazing season here in the Portes du Soleil.  I know we can’t wait to get out to play in the white stuff this weekend and I am sure we will be joined by many of the other Morzine and Vallee d’Aulps locals.  We have the choice of either Avoriaz or Les Gets too which also opens this weekend.  If you haven’t already booked your ski holiday then now there is no excuse, the snow is here and holidays are selling out fast… For great deals on chalet catering please visit our website ChezToi
