Snow in Avoriaz French Alps

Snow at Avoriaz Station Saturday 1st September

Well after all the rain here in the Alps this last week it was no surprise to see snow in the forecast for the weekend.  Everyone in the area woke up to snow covered mountain tops around Morzine, Avoriaz and the Vallee d’Aulps on Saturday.  It has been feeling very Autumnal the last week or so and the leaves have started changing colour.  However it is this sprinkling of snow that really has everyone’s minds turned to winter.   There are rumours that we are in for another cold snowy winter here in Morzine.  Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for more bumper snow falls like winter 2011/12 brought us.

That being said, the forecast for the next week is very pleasant so if you are planning a last minute break to the alps and don’t want to hear about the snow, then take a look at the forecast here //www.chamonix-meteo.com/chamonix-mont-blanc/weather/forecast/morning/5_days_weather_forecast.php.  Maybe we will get a bit more sunbathing in before Autumn really arrives here in the Alps.

If you, like us, are looking forward to the winter, maybe you’re planning a snow holiday for skiing or snowboarding in Morzine, Les Gets or the Vallee d’Aulps.  Please take a look at our website www.cheztoi.biz for catered chalet options.  Book before 31st October to receive a 5% discount from your total booking price.
